Ryan is the co-founder of Carsonified, a Bath-based company specialising in building web applications and running workshops and web events that inspire designers and developers to build their own web applications. He has written extensively on 'web apps', entrepreneurship, start-ups and productivity on www.carsonified.com and is also responsible for DropSend, an easy-to-use online tool for sending large files.
Tara 'miss rogue' Hunt has spent most of her adult life online, either participating in or building communities. Tara understands how the the participatory web is changing all of our relationships: B2C, B2B and C2C. She doesn't believe in pushing messages or creating strong brands, only in the power of building relationships. She co-founded Citizen Agency in 2006 with the mission of teaching her clients how to work more effectively with the communities they serve and how to embrace and adjust to all of the changes in culture businesses are facing. Tara's book on community marketing The Whuffie Factor is released November 11, 2008 and she speaks all over the world on the topic. She spends all of her free time on grassroots communities such as Barcamp, Coworking and TransitCamp. She is also a supporter of the Open Source movement, the EFF, Creative Commons and community-based standards movements like Microformats and OpenID.
Alex is the Head of Group Online Marketing for Virgin Management Limited. One of Alex's major achievements at Virgin was to launch Virgin America, where he used the web to build a grassroots marketing campaign to garner public support on a tight schedule and even tighter budget. Currently based in the UK Alex's work regularly takes him across the globe.
Stefan is co-founder and Chief Monkey of Soocial, a startup aiming to create the next generation contact management platform. He has been molding Soocial into a fun company that has been able to generate considerable buzz online, and that's just the beginning. He holds a MSc degree in Business Information Technology from the University of Twente. A strong believer that a focus on creating value for users will eventually lead to buzz and profits - if you listen to your users. Stefan loves creating simple interfaces, usable web applications and crazy movies featuring David Hasselhoff.
Daniel is co-founder and Captain Cash of Soocial. Before founding Soocial, he co-founded Eight Media in 2001, a creative internet agency and founded Total Experience an award-winning marketing agency. Soocial was born out of Eight Media's drive to develop solutions that make sense and are easy to use. Daniel attended Erasmus University Rotterdam and studied Economics and Japanese.
Paul has been working on the web since 1993. He is a user experience consultant for Headscape Ltd a web design agency that he founded back in 2002. He typically works on large institutional websites including government agencies, higher education institutions and heritage organisations. Paul also produces and hosts the longest running and popular web design podcast at boagworld.com. He is a regular speaker at workshops and conferences and writes for various publications.
Ted is Digital Manager at innocent where he is responsible for the brands digital communications including four UK web sites (innocent, innocent kids, innocent village fete, innocent foundation), three blogs (innocent, knitter knatter, village fete), numerous flickr groups, a youtube channel, FaceBook group, twitter feeds and weekly emails to innocent's 130,000 family. Along with the digital presence of innocent campaigns such as Buy One Grow One Tree, the innocent village fete, The Big Knit, the innocent AGM.
He joined innocent two years ago from Lateral Net and has a total of ten years experience working with a huge variety of brands online. Keir started his career as an IT support technician in the NHS and progressed to the position of Web Services Manager for a large NHS Trust. He was instrumental in developing a secure intranet still in use today with over 2000 users. After leaving the NHS he freelanced as a web developer for over three years and worked on software projects for a wide range of clients. He joined Carsonified in February 2008 and is passionate about web technologies. Keir occasionally blogs at Five&Lime.
Steve Pearce is Design Director at Poke. His friends call him Buzz, but that's another story altogether! He's worked with loads of clients of all shapes and sizes, and has helped make their websites better - for both users and business. He's won his fair share of awards from Webbys to a BAFTA, and talked at various conferences, but his real passion is creating things that both look good and work well, and make people smile. He loves talking design and sharing the things he's learnt over the years. He still doesn't like Comic Sans or baked beans.
Andrew Scott is currently CEO of Rummble, an award winning mobile technology company. Rummble is a location based social search platform which learns; enabling users to find people and places nearby which they will like. A serial entrepreneur, Andrew ran a successful web development company through the dot com years, which he sold to CMGroup plc in 2001; there he developed the world's first online digital video news archive British Pathe, he later built the UKs first interactive SMS dating service Dinner Date Auctions, founded a ground breaking interactive personal fitness website (InTraining) and pioneered Europe's first location based mobile social software (playtxt).
Richard is the Founder and CEO of moo.com, a multi Webby Award Nominee and one of the UK's top dot coms. MOO launched in September 2006 with its first product, MiniCards: designed as a calling card for the internet generation. More than 10m MiniCards were shipped in 2007, to more than 140 countries, making them the first ever mass-produced personal calling card. MOO has subsequently expanded its product line to include Stickers, Post Cards, Greeting Cards and Note Cards and aims to disrupt the 100 year old, $30b+ stationery market.
